I like how Mr. Sears washes over the recent past. Congress not reading bills? How about them not reading the Homeland Security bill or the Patriot Act, both of which gave Bush super-powers and limited those pesky civil liberties. They apparently read very few of the bills when EITHER party is in power. As for the voting on the cap and trade bill, it reminded be of the Medicare Part D vote in 2003, when the Republican leadership held voting over for hours to scrounge (arm-twist, threaten) party members to vote for it. It passed by very few in the end. And lastly, for this response anyway, your quote on the costs from the cap bill to low-income families is simply wrong. You need to start citing your sources. I looked up the actual CBO report (not just a partisan rant) and found that low-income families, when fully implemented, will actually receive a credit. For everyone else, the 'costs for households would average 0.2 percent of their average after-tax income'. Here is the website: http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/103xx/doc10327/06-19-CapTradeCosts.htm. I suggest everyone reads before taking Mr. Sears at face value.");document.write("
");

The same poor, conned folks who slept-walk through the last eight years as Bush/Cheney and their GOP-led ('94-06) rubber-stamp Congress decimated the middle-class, left two wars unfinished in which our boys were slaughtered for failed Neo-con foreign policy theories and cherry-picked false intelligence, and all the while ran up record deficits.

You know, the 'Bush-boom' deficits, the fact of which none of these tea-baggers (nor Mr. Sears)gave a hoot about until someone they didn't vote for, (they are all big Palin fans I'm sure - real geniuses) was faced with no choice than to try to do something to save the country from the imminent economic ruin their very own beloved leaders led this country to, by investing in our own infrastructure, not some oil-fueled occupied lands.

Thank the good Lord, who I would venture to guess is not a war-monger or a trickle-down economist, that the Right is no longer in charge.
