So turn off the TV sit down and have dinner with your kids and read to them if you dont then your not doing them justice and the teachers need to give more time to teach these children and less time off(workshops,etc) Get back to the Basics...");document.write("      </p>");

What does guarantee both of these things is a lot of hard work by the child and parents that are very involved in their childs education.  My Daughter goes to Lakeside High we had some of the worst test scores as a school all but her senior year.  My wife and I were very involved with the classes she took and how she performed in those classes. Lakeside offers many honors and AP classes the old college prep just does not cut anymore.  Her senior year she went to Kent State as a post secondary student and worked very hard preparing for the ACT test in which she scored very high.  That is where most of her scholarship money came from of which she recieved A LOT. Her GPA, where she graduated in her class, her ACT score, and her ability to write an essay was very important when it came to scholarships(nothing to do with where she went to school).  Parents that want a quality education for their children can't just send them to school and hope for the best every teacher, administrator, and guidance counselor at Lakeside was more than helpful in putting together the best curriculum to prepare her for college.  The teachers not only want parents to get involved they need them to in my opinion it's best for everyone involved especially the student");document.write("      </p>");

In collaboration with my husband and my children, we have made the decision to home school our two oldest children in order to grant them the best education possible.
