This is one reason why I no longer attend church. Don't get me wrong, I have deep belief and faith, but not within a organized corporate tax free like operations controlled by a few with their own agendas that will not take me off the roster after numerous formal requests. (Not this particular church) I do agree instead of adding and adding on to a church, the money needs be used in a christian way and reach out to those in need. Heck most churches don't even reach out to their own members and old established houses of worship are closing. For the record, my father a devout Catholic and mother a Methodist, I was raised Lutheran and am still listed with the UMC. When attending, I gave, humbly under annominity and donated a lot of my time serving in various ways inside and outside of the church building. Conneaut needs help, I feel the monies could be spend more wisely, help the community. Don is on the right track in his post.

The Lord is not the reason there is poverty because some have rejected HIM Gordon. Ever been to a deep poverty stricken area in this country and attend a service? Hmmmm lot's of folks who have deep faith there every Sunday and not rejecting God and yet the poverty remains.

Conneaut is hurting, help heal your neighbors needs and start rejoycing at the results. That is a blessing.

Peace and Love");document.write("
");

I'm not a member of a church but I still choose which church to give money to. I've been out of work for 5 years and still have my house, car, and more things, than I had when I was working. Why? I didn't receive help from the church! Don't worry so much where the money is going, do your part and let God do the rest. If the money is being misused or inappropriately being handled God see's it and will deal with them. The reason there is so much poverty in Ohio is because God has said,'Those who reject me (God) I will reject them (people). Pretty simple huh?");document.write("
");
