Well if they stop buying them then they wouldn't keep them in business. And why does smuggling bother you so much? Is it effecting you some how? Its cigarettes, big deal, Alcohol abuse, what are you kidding me, have you walked around your town lately, or do you live in a dry town. Every community has alcoholics, even your's if you think its just a 'Native thing' sorry to say its not. So I have to assume that you never cross this port for you to say that you agree with moving the border. Just stop by the new NYS Custom's building in Rooseveltown and let them know that they just spent 3 miilion and change of your tax dolloars for their new building for nothing because you want the border moved from the 'drunken, looking for handouts indians that live on the border' Did I pretty much get your whole point of view correct. I for one, am sick and tired of all the handouts and walking on thin ice that goes on when dealing with the the Mohawks and any other tribal community. Akwesasne needs to take all of their energy and start focusing it on the issues that really matter in their community such as cigarette smuggling and alcohol abuse. I think it is ironic that they have signs throughout their community saying government officials are terrorists and 'this is not NY land, this is Mohawk land. Yet, these 'first nation' people do not hesitate for one second to take the free handouts and public assistance from the 'government terrorists' and NYS. I say give them what they want and let them manage their own land and people. Stop giving them public assistance, stop spending NYS money at their casinos, and stop buying their cigarettes that are sold everywhere on their land. Maybe then they will realize how good they have it and how much NYS caters to them and truly supports them. I say move the border crossing to a place where noone has to drive through 'their' land and let's see how their economy suffers from it.
