Maybe you should go to the Town of Plattsburgh fire work display, or the Clinton County fire works display. City taxpayer money going up in smoke. They should charge extra for people to park. Business people always say the city should be run like a business--Right. Well nothing is free (except parking at the airport) So pay up or don't go. Do you have any idea what it's like for those of us that live downtown to have people wandering through your yard, urinating behind your car and/or under your bedroom window. One year a young man didn't just urinate outside my window, he dropped his pants to his ankles to leave human feces behind my car. Not to mention the enormous amounts of litter that formerly were strewn throughout the area, people dumping their cars on your property, blocking you and your neighbors in, all without asking or even respecting private residential property. Being threatened and sworn at by a well known local lawyer telling me that I had NO right to expect OR force him to remove his SUV from MY driveway!!??!! Yeah folks, it's fun for YOU when you don't have to live in the middle of it. The Beach area provides CONTROLLED parking, entry & exit, and is more suitable for large crowds. I can do very well without your feces, litter, dogs, beer bottles, paper plates, and property destruction. Brought people downtown to spend money. I think this is the biggest shame ever. Even when they were on the base people went downtown for dinner and drinks.
