It is overpriced for the area. We live in the Disney tourist area and hotels can be found here much cheaper than $161.00 a night with an outdoor pool and great weather year round. The guests that choose to stay are beyond pleased with the product that is offered - including myself. As a salesperson, I know not to 'sell out of my own pocket', meaning that if I can't afford a room night I shouldn't assume that others cannot. I feel that this is the root of most of these comments. One walk through the Hampton Inn justifies the room rates when you compare it to other area hotels. It is clean, smoke-free and accessible to the main vein of traffic that comes through this area. Unfortunately Interstate 87 does not run along our beautiful lake, which is something we should all be thankful for. I applaud the Akeys for investing in our area, no matter where it is located. Local growth = a stronger local economy. Embrace the changes that our area is going through. And really people, how many Kinney Drugs do we really need? I think they better look at their price again.
