Yes, cutbacks are awful, but everyone is having to make them these days. I agree that some administration positions could be cut. It seems to me that if you keep cutting back on guards, the prisons will become uncontrollable. As, for unions....I think they are wonderful. Without them, you have absolutely no one to protect your rights as an employee. I worked under a union contract in NY and got paid well and had someone behind me. Now I live in a 'work at will' state, with no union and you work for much less and can be fired at any time for any reason, or simply no reason at all.");document.write("      </p>");

Everything they receive is free of cost to them, food, medical, housing.  The fact is these convicted felons are in prison for a reason, why should they get free services and the people that are law obeying citizens have to scrap the bottom of the barrel to get by in these tough economic times.
