Any executive of a private firm that made such a horrible decision would immediately be discharged.

When our three kids were growing up in our home on Level St., they walked to the pool almost every day during the summer. It's ridiculous to pretend that use of the Middle School pool is an acceptable substitute. It's out of range for kids who don't have ready transportation. It's indoors. But, most importantly, the city has no control over when, or even IF, this pool will be available.

But as long as Bob Hall is mayor, Charlestown will NOT have a swimming pool. It's not on his agenda, and your voice in the matter isn't particularly important.

LAKEVIEW/HIGHVIEW SEWER PROJECT:

The people of Charlestown have yet to be told the full story about how this project is to be funded? Has a state revolving fund loan been approved? If not, why is construction going to start before funding is arranged? How will the project be paid for? Will all city residents share equally in the cost of upkeep and maintenance, or will one group of residents be treated favorably at the expense of the other group? Every city councilman should be involved in the decisions about this project, and they should be asked these questions.");document.write("
");

The City then needs to get with it and put in a new pool--I know it is not a money maker and looses money but the kids need a pool. It wouldn't have to be fancy.
I and 3 Grandchildren went to the Middle School to see if there was anyone they knew were swimming on Wed. A lady there said the pool's chlorine and PH level was off and they were not using the pool that day but that it was open for use 3 days a week at a cost of $4.00 per person. She stated that hardly anyone was using the pool except for YMCA children. This was not a good solution for the loss of our pool. I would say that the YMCA children are the only ones that have an advantage on this one--there are no sidewalks for the kids to get there.");document.write("
");
