document.write("
");document.write("I didn't mean she didn't deserve to be on the team or wasn't as talented as some of the other girls but someone stated they couldn't believe some of the things coaches will do to try to win, pertaining to the girls eligibilty to be on the all star team only that she wasn't recruited. It's not like she's Babe Ruth is all that I meant unlike the 2 girls HYR had on their team that were good enough to play up to juniors during the year and could hit it out of the park. And to other statements made, we have enough trouble in this day and age trying to keep our kids interested in sports or something else and away from things that can get them in trouble and when they get cheated (TRULY EARNING A SPOT IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME) it doesn't help, these are 11 and 12 year old girls and at a very inpressionable age. And if Jeff/GRC cheated then they shouldn't be there either, but it's not the girls fault that their coaches do these things. HYR coaches shouldn't be allowed to coach next year and I wouldn't want them teaching my child anything about life if they think this was fair. They truly ruined this for Jeff/GRC, not to mention what they did to their girls chances. If they don't know the rules which is what I'm sure they will say then they shouldn't be coaching either. Someone needs to take a serious look at the rules tho, how do you change the rules for ties, I'm just curious if there was a tie for 3rd if the rules change again. But something should be taken in to consideration for forfeits because a forfeit is not a true win and if your going to give someone a win that can decide the outcome of a tournament then somethings wrong, I don't care who got cheated and got the win over a forfeit, HYR, Jeff/GRC, Silver Creek, CLarksville, or Charlestown it's wrong. At best it should have been ruled a tie and if nothing else maybe a playoff to get to the championship but not just give it to ANYBODY.");document.write("
");

document.write("
");document.write("Okay. I need to say to all of you that I hope none of the girls, especially the young lady who one of you very blatantly said was living out of district but was still on the Jeff/GRC team NOT because she was talented, are reading this. I do want to clear one thing up also. My two children live in New Wash but we wanted them to play in a Little League organization. When we checked on this we were told they could play in ANY LL organization BUT in order to be eligible for all stars, they had to be in the LL organization geographicaly closest to our home address. Therefore, if indeed, Jeff/GRC has a player in that situation, she can play all season but may not participate, legally, on the all star team unless Jeff/GRC is the closest LL to where she lives most of the time. You can check this in the National Little League rules. Believe me, it got checked by both the Scottsburg and the Charlestown organizations when our oldest became eligible for all stars. I also want to say that if the best or favored team always won, what would be the point of even trying. Sports are only as exciting as what happens during play. Upsets are inevitable. Ask anyone who is seriously involved in either youth or professional sports. It's part of the game and so is losing graciously. Sometimes you get a bad call; sometimes your best player gets hurt and can't play; and sometimes the unexpected team wins. That's what makes it exciting. I know that the Silver Creek team is very talented and so does my daughter. She also respects every talented player on the Jeff/GRC team. We aren't blind or stupid and recognize that there is talent on these teams. But, the simple fact is that tomorrow night Silver Creek will play Charlestown and that cannot be changed. Both teams have talented players, good coaches, and luck (good or bad) to contend with. Please do not belittle these young ladies as they have all worked hard and want to win. But the real 'ladies' will be the ones whose attitudes reflect those of a true athlete who realizes that in sports the unexpected will happen. As adults, we need to accept this and teach our kids to deal with it. I am a Charlestown parent and I hope that both teams do their best and respect each other even if the adults involved cannot.");document.write("
");

As far as a Jeff/GRC player playing outside their district I can honestly say I didn't know that but I'm 99% sure now that I know who it is a believe me it's NOT because of her ability. But I agree I think the Jeff/GRC girls were cheated. How can you tell them that this is fair when they play the way they played but we are going to give this other team a win and that puts them ahead of you. You might as well give the other team all their wins if your going to give them 1. And what does it teach the girls from the team that got in, you didn't earn it but we are going to let you in anyway. But the biggest fiasco with this whole thing is that you don't always have the best playing, coaches pick the teams and they load these teams with their own kids or friends kids. I know for a fact that there were numerous Jeff/GRC kids with more talent than some of the kids on the team. I try to teach my child to do the right thing all the time but what message does this send our children. I would just like to see the actual 2 best teams playing and if that's Silver Creek and Charlestown so be it, but in my heart I know Jeff/GRC 11 and 12 year old girls were the best team out there and I'm pretty sure the championship game Saturday will be another trouncing like Wednesday.");document.write("
");

They did beat Jeff/GRC fair and square, on a rematch with Jeff's lead pitcher....who knows. Every team has good and bad days. A rematch might well end in the same scenario. I wish both teams in the tournament luck. I am unsure of the residency rules and if in fact that makes the Jeff/GRC player inelligible then it should have been reported. What are we teaching our girls? If you work hard it is likely that someone else out there will cheat you out of what is yours. Not what I want my 12 year old daughter to believe. If Jeff/GRC was a participant in cheating the system, then they are no better and should have been penalized and the coaches reprimanded. (if they knew)To 'whatever'..a rematch would not have made a difference since C-Town had 0 runs allowed in that game. By the way, it has come to our attention that Jeff/GRC is playing with at least one illegal player in that she is not playing in the Little League organization that is geographically closest to her real residence. She is and has always been enrolled in New Wash schools and that would make C-town, ironically enough, her closest Little League organization. (New Wash is Babe Ruth.) She is using the address of her stepdad's ex-wife. ?? I can't believe the lengths to which people will go to construct these teams. Lying about an address for something this unimportant in the overall scheme of things in life, really?? What lessons are parents expecting their kids to learn from this? Why does it change for the remaining teams? It was a 3 way tie for first place. Not a tie for second place!
